We are deeply concerned by ongoing human rights abuses in Burma.  Thus, we support the Tom Lantos JADE Act of 2008, which banned the importation of Burmese-mined rubies and jaeite, effective September 27, 2008, until such time as the Burmese government begins to make progress toward democratic reforms.

We require assurances from our gemstone suppliers that they are abiding by the JADE Act, and are sourcing non-Burmese rubies and jadeite from importers who comply with the strict import rules created by U. S. Customs and Border Protection.
