These collector-quality fossilized pine cones are from Cerro Cuadrado in Patagonia, Argentina.  These were dug and exported prior to the Argentinean law forbidding this.  These are Jurassic cones, which mean that they are about 150 million years old.  The genus of the pine cone is Araucaria mirabilis.  Many of our fossilized pine cones, featured in [...]
